Vision Jinx's Blogger Form
Vision Jinx's Google Gadget Playground
Welcome Google Gadget Fans! This
is my Google Gadget Playground, and here I plan on posting some of my Google Gadgets that you may find useful on your iGoogle Homepage or Website. Since the Google Gadgets API is constantly evolving, I decided to set up a site more dedicated to them. I also set it up using Google's Hosted Applications for your Domain to further help demonstrate what all cool things can be done when you use them together.
Google Hosted Apps and Google Pages both allow you to easily add a gadget by URL in to them and I think this is a great feature for quickly adding cool things to your site. It just seemed like a good fit to put them together. So please take a moment to check them out and I hope you like them, Enjoy! :)
Feed Reader and Monitor Gadgets
These are my most popular feed gadgets to date. They are packed with
lots of cool things, and I plan on adding more things in newer
versions. To start, these are the evolution of my Basic Feed Reader
Gadgets, that were upgraded when Google Gadgets API introduced Tabs.
Shortly after they added a feature called List Items. This I found to
be a very handy feature to use for allowing people to add search terms
and keywords. With this I can then have the gadget monitor your feeds
for your keywords then let you know when there is a match.
Tabbed Feed Reader Gadgets
These are the newer Tabbed version of my Basic Feed Reader Gadgets.
These gadgets works the same as the originals but is more for those who need
ones with support for multiple feeds. Following the same clean and lean
design, I am sure you will find it very handy for many of your feed
reading needs. Very eloquent for Websites with limited space and need a
more compact reader.
Basic Feed Reader Gadgets
I just love feeds! I find them to be a very effective way to check out
a lot of information and content in a very short amount of time.
Nowadays, most sites have XML feeds for a lot of things, and the most
popular formats you will find are either RSS or Atom feeds. When you
add one of these XML feeds into a feed reader it will display
the content from that feed in real time, depending on the publishing and
feed fetching setting. You can keep up to date with lots of things in a very short amount of time.
Blogger Status Feed Gadget
Attention Bloggers! This gadget is for you! I am a long time user of
Blogger and I really like the fact that the Blogger team has a blog for
posting issues with Blogger that they are aware of or working on, or
other need to know information about the Blogger blogging service. This gadget monitors that feed so you can easily keep up to date with their posts regarding the status of the Blogger service.
Google Pages and Hosted Domains Sitemap Gadget
I have made a minor modification to one of my basic feed reader gadgets
to add the ability to act as a Sitemap gadget for Google Pages. One
cool thing (but not always known) is GPC automatically generates some
XML files for you. One is sitemap.xml and the other is rss.xml and by
using the rss.xml file for your Google Pages site with this gadget you
can very easily create a Nav Bar or Sitemap for your Website. You only need to enter the domain name and it will do the rest. For those who have Google Hosted Domains, this gadget will strip out the extra clutter in the URL so it uses your domain name only with out having the -a.googlepages.com appended to it.
Google Gadget Maker Gadget
Keep hearing all this hype about Google Gadgets and like what you see here and wish you knew how to do one, well this gadget you may find handy to get you started making you very first Google Gadget. By taking simple copy/paste code or text or even HTML code you can use
this handy gadget to help generate simple Google Gadgets Code. Just
fill in the blanks and paste your code into the text area below and
it will generate your very own Google Gadgets Code (save it as an XML file) to use
on your site and share with others.
Webmaster Gadgets
This section is still being developed but I soon hope to further expand this section with all sorts of goodies for the
webmasters. So make sure to check back often for more great things to
come soon. I have posted my popular W3C Validator Gadget on it in case you have been wondering where it is. Since it is so small, I did not make a separate page for it, but instead will include gadgets like it on that page as I finish them.
Vision Jinx's Google Gadget Directory
I have recently started a Google Gadget Directory. If you have a cool Google Gadget that you finished and tested, then please feel free to submit a Google Gadget Inclusion Request (the form can be found on the site). But please make sure to test your gadgets as only quality and unique gadgets will be included.
If you have questions or comments about this script or gadgets I have developed you can post them to my Google Group and I will try to help answer them the best I can. If you are a developer and would like to submit some feature modules for this script you can contact me via my website at www.visionjinx.net.
Welcome AJAX Fans! I would like to make an announcement regarding this section of my site. My little AJAX script has grown and new features have been added. To better demonstrate what has all been added I have moved this section of my site over to a New website where I can better demonstrate the different features and ideas possible with it and Google Pages. I would like to introduce Vision Jinx's AJAX Playground!
I plan on continuing to use it on this site but not as much as a tutorial, but more of a practical application of it's use and I will continue to expand this site with lots of Cool Google Gadgets since it is my Gadget Playground.
I will leave the content on here while I update other parts of this site, but I will eventually switch things up a bit and not too sure what will happen with this section. So for all your cool AJAX updates and new features and tutorials please check out my new official site for this script.
New AJAX Module Features
I have recently added some more features to the script and now you can include Dynamic AJAX Tabs, Random Quotes, EZ YouTube Videos, Quick Tips, a Post to Blogger module and many other neat things for your Google Pages site . I hope you enjoy it! :-)
